Want To Have A Go Yourself?
As you can see from our Gallery we are forever messing about with stuff from around the farmhouse and making things just for fun. If you would like to have a go but are stuck for a few ideas here are some that we made earlier...And keep popping back as we will be adding new crafts all the time. PLEASE BE PATIENT WHEN DOWNLOADING THE CRAFTS!! They may a take a minute or two depending on your connection speed but we like to think they are worth the wait :) If you can't download and would like a hard copy of any of our crafts please email us with your address to crafts@the-art-angels.co.uk
Don't give your heart this Valentine's Day - make it!
Save you pocket and the planet by making this fab heart trinket box out of papier mache (re-cycled paper and glue!). It's very easy to make and all that extra love that it takes to make it will make your special someone feel that little bit more special!
1) 2)
3) 4)
Steps
1) Make a heart shape from plastecine that is about 5cm thick. You can make the box pretty much any shape but don’t make it too complicated. Then rip an old newspaper into small strips. Put a tablespoon of PVA glue into a bowl with a quarter of a glass of water and mix together. Dip the strips in the glue/water mix one by one and completely cover your shape.
2) Apply the strips until you have applied at least 5 layers. Leave to dry – a radiator is a great place to do this. GROWN UP BIT! When it is dry if you have little fingers ask an adult to cut through the middle all around the shape until you have completely separated the 2 halves. Carefully remove the plastecine.
3) Use a paintbrush and your favourite colour of paint to cover both the inside and the outside of the shapes. To hold the 2 shapes together glue a strip of ribbon to the bottom of the box and tie it in a bow or knot on the top. Why not add a heart to remind the person you are giving it to how much you love them!
4) If you want to make the inside even more fab then draw around your shape on felt and line the insides with it.
Flexi Froggy Friend
You can use our little froggy friend anywhere you want - we use ours to guard the Art Angels laptop!
Here are the steps...
1) 2)
3)
1) Cut out 2 heart shapes from green card. Stick them together as shown in the picture
above.
2) Cut 4 lengths of green card about 1cm wide and bend it in a zig zag to make the arms and legs. Stick them on.
3) Glue on 2 circles of white card and use a felt tip pen to make the pupils. Cut out a small
red heart for the mouth and stick on. Sign optional!
